We have challenged ourselves and the status quo to offer as many program options as possible to be able to truly meet each client where they are. Our substance abuse and mental treatment programs in California (Orange County and Newport Beach) provide an intermediate step between our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and Addiction Support Services Programs. Participating in our local treatment programs allows individuals to continue solidifying their recovery lifestyle with the ongoing guidance, motivation, and accountability of their treatment team and community of sober peers. When it’s time to look for drug treatment programs in California, it’s important to attend an IOP treatment program in Orange County you can trust.
Those who enroll in our outpatient addiction services experience a full continuum of care. Many people battling addiction first start their recovery journey with our Detox and Residential Treatment Programs to solidify their foundation before starting our intensive outpatient treatment in Orange County—which we equate to a fundamental step in maintaining long-lasting sobriety centered in both clinical and emotional support. Because no one’s journey is the same, we offer individualized outpatient program options to meet each person’s needs exactly where they are, whether continuing treatment or seeking outpatient or day treatment. Our signature services—which include Collegebound® for those pursuing education and Collegebound® to ease the transition back into the work workforce—are available throughout all phases of substance abuse treatment, including for those who are enrolled in our Outpatient program.
What is an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP)?
IOP is an appropriate level of care for those who have a safe and sober living environment to reside in. It is also best for those who already have support back at home. Participants must be safely detoxed from mind-altering substances prior to entering an IOP program. Some clients enter Northbound’s IOP at our local treatment rehab after completing Residential Treatment. Others utilize the intensive outpatient rehab program to refocus on their recovery following a slip or relapse, or as an initial intervention attempt to arrest their addiction. Dual diagnosis treatment is fully incorporated at the IOP treatment program level of care: Those looking to heal from mental health concerns within Northbound’s scope are welcomed with open arms at our local treatment center. With flexible scheduling tailored to the real-life needs of each participant, this outpatient addiction treatment program helps clients build the skills and strategies necessary to live confidently in their recovery. Transitions, challenges, stresses, and successes are met with non-judgmental support and loving yet firm accountability. We make sure to equip those in intensive outpatient rehab with the tools needed to develop a balanced, sustainable recovery lifestyle.
How Long is Our Orange County Intensive Outpatient Rehab?
Many drug treatment programs in California use outpatient addiction services as a way to help people get treatment from their own homes. The length of these sessions differs from person to person and typically depends on a couple of factors. A person will typically attend their local outpatient treatment for 6-12 hours every week. This can be the number of hours someone will engage in an Intensive Outpatient rehab every week.
Think you or your loved one may have an addiction? Northbound has some of the best drug rehabilitation centers in California.

What is Outpatient Treatment?
Our outpatient addiction services include drug and alcohol rehab centers in Orange County. They provide an intermediate step between our IOP treatment program (Intensive Outpatient Program IOP) and what we call Addiction Support Group Services. Participating in an outpatient addiction treatment program allows you to continue to solidify your recovery lifestyle with our ongoing guidance, motivation, and the accountability of your treatment team, supported by a community of sober peers.
Whether you suffer from drug addiction, alcohol use disorder, or co occurring disorders, our rehab specialists at our treatment facility will help you achieve long-term recovery. Our outpatient addiction services help recovering addicts go through a medical detox followed by rehabilitation. This way, each patient can safely detox and then receive the counseling they need to avoid relapse.
How Long is Intensive Outpatient Rehab?
The number of hours someone will engage in an intensive outpatient program every week is typically between 3-6 hours. At Northbound, we personalize our intenstive outpatient program to every client based on clinical recommendations at our quality drug treatment facilities in California (Newport Beach and Orange County).
Is an Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program Right for Me or for a Loved One?
Determining the next step in your recovery is not something that you have to do on your own. Northbound helps you decide if either outpatient addiction services are right for you or your loved one. This intensive outpatient program in Orange County can be tailored to work with the schedule that best suits your recovery needs and provides you with the level of treatment and support that will ensure enduring sobriety.
How Can I Engage in Faith-Based Counseling?
Northbound’s LINKS program places an emphasis on Christian-based counseling, incorporating the role of faith into problem-solving and working through the challenges that recovery presents. Christianity is a source of strength for many individuals. Christian rehab is an amazing opportunity to put faith into practice and rediscover the power of spirituality. The idea that there is something bigger than us—something more powerful than the individual—can be humbling, centering, and incredibly moving, offering a foundation and infrastructure to the challenges the path to enduring recovery presents.
