Renee Nedelman joined the Northbound Team in April of 2014, and she is a certified Recovery Coach, per the CCAR recovery coach training program. Renee went through a process of recovery hersellf, and she has been active in her sobriety since May, 2013. She strongly attributes this acheivement by her willingness to gain clinical insgiht from both her treatment process, and her continued work in Alcoholics Anonymous in this local vibrate recovery community. Because of her own recovery process, she believes passionately in the Northbound’s Mission Statement: “To assist our clients in celebrating one year of continuous sobriety”. Renee is driven by her love for people and believes by sharing her experience, strength, and hope on daily basis, that she will be successful in helping others recover from their own substance abuse and mental health issues.
As a client advocate, Renee’s job duties include developing rapport and trust with each of our clients, providing crisis intervention if the need ever arises to prevent somebody from leaving against clincial advice, and continued ongoing support through the detox stablization and residential levels of clinical care for our clients. Renee also mentors, models, and coaches positive behaviors by planning and participating in a variety of team building adventure based activities with all of our clients such as: kickboxing, nature walks, surfing and other experiential activities. Having fun in sobriety is major component to continued sobriety. As a mother of two beautiful teenage daughters, nurturing comes naturally for Renee, therfore, many of our clients view her as a fun-loving and trustworthy advocate, that genuinely wants all clients to feel supported and cared for.
