Community
Northbound Treatment Center is more than just rehab treatment center, it’s a community of partners in rehab.
It is an active community of organizations, doctors, clinicians, universities, and people who have undergone treatment at our Orange County, California facilities. Partners in rehab are critical to our success in the work we do. Whether we are partnering with an organization that aligns with our belief system of “mission over margin” or working side by side with nationally recognized universities in Southern California, our community is critical to our success. Organizations that are committed to having a tangible impact on their community enjoy higher employee morale and a stronger public image. Creating a truly community-integrated treatment plan for all participants in our Programs & Services is intrinsic to what we do.
We’re proud that our residential treatment facilities are situated in an area of Southern California that’s not only rich in natural resources, but also educational resources. Through our Collegebound® Program, we can offer educational opportunities with several orange county colleges and institutions.

We have formed a reciprocal collaboration with The University of Southern California(USC), which has provided meaningful 3rd party data compilation that analyzes Northbound Treatment’s ongoing impact and reach.
Additionally, Northbound supports USC through our Collegebound® Program, where we successfully re-integrate students onto campus to graduate and attain their master’s degree in some instances. It’s not simply about scholastic achievement and checking the box on earning your collegiate degrees, our work on campus is also to help collegiate and graduate students re-integrate into life at the University of Southern California, where it’s participating without igniting triggered behavior at collegiate tailgates or managing the stress that comes with being enrolled at a premium university.
The University of California at Irvine(UC Irvine), is Orange County’s most prestigious learning institution, with an active alumni that includes our founder, Paul Alexander. Northbound has helped UC Irvine develop an on-campus recovery program. Many Northbound participants—current and past—are able to attend UC Irvine through our proprietary Collegebound® Program.
Northbound’s leadership sponsors this organization that’s dedicated to treating children affected by addiction free of charge. Paul Alexander and Mike Neatherton are proud to sponsor BISKIDS (Believe in Sobriety Kids/Believe in Success Kids), a terrific organization that supports children all over Orange County who have been impacted by addiction. Their mission is to break the cycle of addiction with education appropriate for children. In an interactive two-day workshop, licensed therapists educate children about addiction and the important life skills they need to overcome adversity and promote a drug-free lifestyle. “I have seen this program work miracles in children’s lives,” says Alexander.
CarePossible is making care possible for veterans in need of mental health or addiction treatment, but who are unable to afford it. Our founder, Paul Alexander, is an active board member of CarePossible, helping to organize their two annual fundraisers. The organization raises money for veterans who need mental health or addiction treatment. Veterans have a very high rate of addiction and mental health issues due to PTSD, says Alexander, who points out that the rate of suicide is also high. “Many vets suffer from PTSD and we want to be a part of helping them,” says Alexander. Because of the work of CarePossible, many lives are saved each year.

Northbound’s Innovative InVivo® Model
Through our In Vivo® model, we have successfully and safely integrated thousands of individuals back into the Orange County, California community and beyond. We believe there’s a big difference between living a life of abstinence and living a life that is centered around helping others; becoming spiritually fit, emotionally balanced, happy, fulfilled, and free.
“There is strong evidence of community-based treatment effectiveness. In addition, continuing care is vital to maintenance of treatment benefit.”
