How We’re Changing This

Our comprehensive continuum of care has supported thousands of individuals to overcome addiction disorders and substance abuse. At Northbound, we strive to show individuals how to overcome addiction and offer help to those who suffer from underlying mental health disorders that prevent them from leading fulfilling lives.

Using Data to Improve Northbound Treatment’s Programs Quality

We use data to evolve and improve our Programs each year. Northbound Treatment is committed to measuring our results and reporting these results to our Partners as we consider transparency central to our success. This includes developing rigorous methods in a reciprocal partnership with the University of Southern California (USC) that provides meaningful 3rd Party data compilation that analyzes Northbound Treatment’s ongoing impact and reach. Led by Jeremy Goldbach, Northbound Treatment has enlisted USC to analyze data compiled from our Outcomes questionnaire that is distributed to participants in all of our treatment programs and completed upon admissions, upon 30 days in one of our programs and upon discharge, across our full continuum of care.

All participants in our programs, complete an Outcomes questionnaire that gathers intel across a number of domains including:

USC puts this format into a digestible benchmarking that is designed to measure the quality of Northbound Treatment’s Programs across the treatment industry. We have purposefully enlisted a 3rd party outside firm that is dedicated to research in order purposefully and intentionally validate these results annually that then cross-informs our Clinical Team , from our alumni coordinator to our clinical director, where we analyze the effectiveness of our treatment in order to improve our quality of care.

Our Outcomes are then utilized anonymously at a Master’s level in an effort to cross-inform our peers in hopes that other rehab treatment facilities will emulate Northbound’s commitment to quality of care and efficacy in helping as many people as possible to overcome an addiction.

A 2015 outcomes study conducted by Dr. Lori Holleran Steiker (who is a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work), Dr. Jeremy Goldbach (who is a professor at University of Southern California’s School of Social Work), and Dr. Laura Hopson (who is a professor at the University of Alabama School of Social Work), showed the following:
