I was picked up from the airport by David Gates who has stood by my education and sobriety for the past 17 months. While at Northbound I got my CADAC and learned the coping skills that have made my sobriety successful. I spent 90 days in Northbound Treatment center last year. This was an excellent experience. I met a lot of fantastic people and was taught how to live a happy life, clean and sober. I was comfortable, well-accommodated, and intellectually stimulated my entire stay in beautiful Newport Beach/ Costa Mesa. Learned how to surf, got to play and record original music in a studio, went to Angels games in Anaheim, meanwhile taking an honest look at myself and taking action to improve my future. Also, my insurance policy covered most of it! (BlueCross BlueShield) I would most definitely recommend Northbound to anyone who is struggling with alcoholism and/or drug addiction like I was.

We looked at a lot of treatment facilities before deciding on Northbound. One reason: They don't encourage a quick fix. They have everything from inpatient residential to outpatient to working with sober living houses, and much more. Northbound bears in mind that life also happens while in treatment and integrates school or jobs while an individual continues to progress in recovery. What we liked best is that Northbound is not just a one-size-fits-all treatment.

I have a few friends that have successfully gone through this program. I can truly say that the program transformed their lives. Prior to going to Northbound these people were an absolute train wreck. One had spent time in jail, another was stealing from their family to support their habit. Once I left Northbound, I moved into a sober living they recommended and continued with IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) I continued to see my counselor who was a huge part in my recovery. She always was there and always willing to listen and give helpful advice to get me back on track. I love what Northbound has done for me. I am now 4 years sober and I finished beauty school. I have my cosmetology licenses I work full time. I'm also back in collage to get a 4-year degree. 5 years ago, I was hopeless and going nowhere fast. Now my life is going in an amazing direction.
