What Makes Northbound Rehab SeattleSpecial

Northbound’s Seattle rehab center is located right in Lower Queen Anne, one of Seattle’s nicest neighborhoods. It’s close to the Space Needle and right on the Puget Sound, where you can kayak or catch a ferry to dozens of nearby islands. The neighborhood’s historic houses and small boutique stores lend a quaint vibe to the area.

Northbound’s incredible success rates are due, in part, to our InVivo® model, which empowers participants to interact with the outside world while in a safe and supportive clinical setting.  Our philosophy, and ultimately our success rates, prioritizes how important community is, and unlike isolated treatment scenarios whereby returning to the ‘real world’ can trigger risky behaviors.

In Seattle, Northbound has created a recovery community as vibrant and active as the city itself. While enrolled in any of our Seattle programs (Outpatient, IOP, Addiction Support Services) you can be immersed in Seattle’s outdoorsy culture, and experiencing its exciting city features—artisanal coffee shops, beautiful museums, and great food. Our Seattle drug rehab center alumni have formed a strong community, meeting regularly to lend emotional support, and taking part in activities we organize, such as attending a Seattle Seahawks game.

We continue to support the recovery community of Seattle by offering addiction support services, family services, and group therapy.

What to Expect from a Drug Addiction Treatment Center in Seattle, WA

Drug rehab centers in Seattle will start by having you complete an evaluation with a medical professional. The overall goal of this meeting is to better understand your drug and alcohol use, investigate any mental health struggles, and identify any medical concerns you have. Once this information is gathered, your Physician will be able to talk to you about the treatment options they offer. Together, you will develop a treatment plan designed for you and your needs.

Addiction treatment in Seattle, WA, can begin in a detoxification program. Detox programs include medical supervision around the clock. When we abuse drugs and alcohol, it can change the way our bodies work. The connections in our brain that are responsible for the reward systems change. This change makes the use of drugs and alcohol feel more rewarding than other activities that used to bring us enjoyment. Additionally, we can experience a range of physical and mental health discomforts during withdrawal. Substances such as alcohol and benzodiazepines can cause health concerns during detox, which is why we highly recommend that you do not detox alone.

Inpatient addiction treatment programs can help individuals struggling with alcohol and drug abuse. While different treatment providers will have their own treatment approaches, some common components are associated with these programs.

This includes the use of group therapy, individual therapy, educational sessions, and 12-step meetings. Inpatient rehab programs should use therapeutic approaches known to be effective with addiction treatment. You will see differences among treatment programs in their specialized services. This can include mental health treatment and alternative therapies such as faith-based treatment. The length of these programs will depend on several factors, including your specific needs and insurance coverage. Typically, they can range from 1 to 3 months.

Outpatient drug rehabs in Seattle can offer a variety of treatment programs. This can include partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), outpatient groups, and family therapy.

Partial hospitalization programs can also be known as day programs. When you are in one of these programs, you will attend groups and individual sessions at the treatment facility for 6-8 hours a day, several days each week. These programs can help give you structure and support after completing an inpatient rehab program. With PHPs, you will not reside in the treatment facility so that you can live at home or in a sober living environment.

Intensive outpatient treatment programs resemble a PHO program. However, the hours required tend to be significantly less. For example, you may be expected to be in a 3-hour group session for 3-5 days each week with an additional hour for an individual session. You should still have the opportunity to receive treatment for varying mental health concerns.

Outpatient groups can be a follow-up option after a PHP or IOP program. This option would be even fewer hours of groups and may have different expectations for individual sessions. Addiction treatment centers may offer specialized group sessions in their outpatient programs, including a mental health group, veterans group, men’s group, women’s group, first responder group, and a trauma group.

Family therapy can be available at any of the levels of care mentioned above. Most inpatient rehab programs offer a family therapy program that can be helpful for families navigating the early changes that come with sobriety. Family therapy programs can include group, educational, and family therapy sessions. The focus will be on the family as a unit and navigating how they can move forward in a healthy manner. This can include rebuilding trust and intimacy, establishing healthy boundaries, and improving communication skills.
