Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
The Northbound DBT program is facilitated by our masters-prepared, DBT-trained therapists who help participants explore DBT skills that focus on gaining awareness, understanding, and insight into their own recovery.
Trauma Program
Individuals who have suffered psychological trauma and who are chemically dependent require an integrated treatment approach, so we are focused on identifying and treating trauma symptoms as well as dependency.
Music Program
The music program at Northbound empowers clients to engage with music and promote healing through self-expression, complementing other therapies to create a personalized approach to addiction recovery.
Family Program
Over the course of four days each month, family members come together to reconnect with the person in treatment, repair relationships damaged by drug and alcohol abuse and learn about the roots of addiction.
Women and men have different needs and therefore successful treatment programs need to be sophisticated in order to respond and reflect those needs.
Our Residential Treatment Programs are gender-responsive and account for the inherent differences in how addiction and co-occurring disorders impact men and women in the process of recovery. Research shows that men and women in gender-specific alcohol and substance use treatment programs tend to stay in treatment longer and have better outcomes than those who don’t.

Christ-Centered LINKS Inpatient Programs
Addiction doesn’t discriminate. It has no regard for gender, ethnicity, race, religion, or socioeconomic status. Individuals who are strong in their religious convictions will face the same struggles as those with no religious affiliations.
However, faith can be a strong source of support in Christian residential treatment centers in California. The name “LINKS” refers to the link between the best practices of addiction medicine and the principles of Christianity.
What Sets Northbound’s Inpatient Rehab Program in Orange County Apart?
Simply put, we transform lives. With our individualized inpatient programs, we help addicts suffering from a substance abuse problem get through the most difficult time of their lives. From the inpatient substance abuse detox to outpatient treatment, we guide all addicts throughout the recovery process to avoid relapse and achieve long-term sobriety.
We offer a full continuum of care, steeped in clinical sophistication every step of the way. We give participants the time and opportunity to address the causes and conditions of their addiction using our unique dynamic treatment modalities. We have first-hand knowledge of the tools and pivotal moments where the decision to heal is paramount.
Given this, we have carved out programmatic services. Examples are our music therapy and our Christian faith-based inpatient substance abuse and alcohol abuse program, LINKS. When combined with our Residential, Outpatient, and Addiction Support Services Programs, Northbound is an individualized path to recovery. During your first call with us, you will complete an individualized assessment where we tailor a programmatic curriculum that will set you up for success. These programs strengthen your likelihood to gain independence and self-reliance not only in recovery but also in life beyond treatment.

What is In Vivo®?
Recovery is not lived in a bubble, and true fulfillment is about living in the moment. While the right environment is key to lasting recovery, and often clients need a structured and safe environment for treatment, they also need to learn how to function in the real world. Ultimately when challenges and temptations arise, clients need to be prepared to handle these situations in an effective manner.
Our deeply rooted philosophy is trademarked in our In Vivo® model and refers to how we help our clients learn, develop, and adapt to living life on life’s terms. At the beginning of our continuum of care, we believe a structured environment is necessary to build a foundation. As people progress through our phases of treatment from Residential to our Outpatient and Addiction Support Services Programs, clients gain more independence and confidence. There is an acclimation back to cell phones, social media, cars, and other key experiential dynamics.
In Vivo® is about community and navigating these dynamics. There’s a big difference between living a life of abstinence and living a life centered around helping others; becoming spiritually fit, emotionally balanced, happy, joyous and free; which is our primary objective in developing our core principles of the In Vivo® philosophy.
